Rules:

• If you are attending, you must be present at the start of the party with your submission on May 25th, 2019.
  • Bring either a hex or a board with your demo pre-loaded for L1 Demoscene and Secret Board entries
  • Bring your modified L1 Demoscene board for Hacked L1 Demoscene entries
  • Bring whatever you need to show off your Wildcard* entry. We can provide projector, audio, and power. Contact us for questions about non-standard requirements
• Remote Entries are welcome!
  • Remote entries must be submitted by Friday May 24th, 2019 11:59:59PM UTC-8:00
• Production must be your own work. Group collaboration is welcome and encouraged.
• Production must not have been previously released
• Production may be disqualified if it breaks any of the rules on this page.
• Rules are subject to reasonable changes

• L1 Demoscene Board
  • Must use an unmodified Layerone Demoscene Board
  • Only USB power will be supplied, no external communication allowed
  • Must display VGA (at least 480pixels vertical)


• Hacked L1 Demoscene Board
  • Must use a modified Layerone Demoscene Board
  • We will provide USB Power
  • Must display VGA (at least 480pixels vertical)
  • Testing ahead of time is encouraged. Contact us to arrange time with Conference AV equipment


• ANSI
  • Image Size: 80 columns, 23 lines
  • Colors: Standard ansi colors only (16 colors), no ice colors or extended palette
  • Font: 9px preferred
  • Final artwork will be displayed in Pablodraw at 100%, no VGA mode viewing or side rendering
  • Submissions must open in Pablodraw and be submitted as .ans or .asc files
  • New Artists:
    • Please make sure your SAUCE info is filled out and settings are correct. This can be found under File> Edit Sauce Info. Make sure under View that "Use iCE Colors" is not selected - it is on by default.
